March 2020
As I write our news from the farm, there’s no doubt this time is filled with contrasts. For us, at last we feel relief that we have just this week turned our first group of Billies on to grass for the first time since the middle of November! It has been such a long, wet winter that this week we feel a huge milestone has been reached for both us and the Billies.

To contrast this, we are, like you, all living in unprecedented times. For us, the day to day life on the farm must continue as normal, but what is happening outside the farm gates has thrown our business into unchartered territory.
We take such pride in working with so many amazing restaurants and talented chefs and to see them have to shut their doors is devastating. We, like many producers that sell directly to restaurants, have had to adjust our business overnight. I can honestly say if it was not for you – our private customers – we would be in an unconceivable position right now.
We are trying to channel stock that was destined for restaurants tables to your tables directly and already your support has been amazing!

We are constantly reviewing our plan as new guidelines are released from Government but right now this is our Action Plan:
- We are open and trading, butchering every Monday as normal.
- We are sending out orders via courier (Fedex) on a Monday for delivery on a Tuesday.
- All payments are being made by BACS.
- We are making free local deliveries – the meat is left at your door so no contact is made.
- Collections from the farm can be arranged and facilitated so NO contact is made but only for pre-orders and at a pre-arranged time.
Upcoming Events
We have had to postpone all our events/courses for April and all attendees have been contacted individually – everyone has been so understanding THANK YOU! We cannot wait to open the farm back up and welcome you all to an Event at the earliest and safest opportunity.
Back to some lighter news…
We are making a concerted effort to increase our Social Media feeds with snippets of life here with the Billies.
So, if you would like a little light relief in the coming weeks do join us on social media, you can have a laugh at Jamie and I trying to keep our unruly herd of Billies in order!
