We’re opening our gates and firing up the ovens!
We like to think our gates have always been open, our customers that collect from the farm will concur with this – but 2018 has seen them flung right open with our range of farm events!
Mornings on the Farm
We have decided to share our world with you, through our ‘Mornings on the Farm’ events you can experience first-hand what it is like to farm Billy Kids.
The mornings are fluid but they designed to be an opportunity for everyone, any age to come out and enjoy a morning on the farm and get as hands on as they wish!
We launched this event during the February half term and it was a great success. The mother nature threw rain, wind and the cold at us but everyone mucked in and went away smiling – I think the flowing tea and sausage sandwiches helped with this! Following the feedback and demand we are running this event again through the Easter Holidays and Summer dates will be announced so what this space!
Easter Holiday Dates: 31st March, 2nd April, 5th April, 7th April, 10th April, 12th April, 14th April
Introduction to Keeping Goats
In addition to our ‘Mornings on the Farm’ we are also running our Goat Husbandry course; which Lizzie has been running at Humble by Nature and even over the water in Southern Ireland! This husbandry course in aimed at smallholders and people who would like to explore the idea of introducing goats into the lives, no experience required just a sense of humour!
This introductory goat husbandry course is a fun day during which you will learn the essentials for keeping goats and gain first hand practical experience of handling and looking after goats. From the courses I have already taken the mix of people who attend is vast and many come along just to spend the day with this truly unique animal and learn a new skill!
The day starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm and includes a proper farmhouse spread of food and drink throughout the day.
2018 Course Dates: 24th March, 2nd June, 4th August, 29th September
